Saturday - June 27th, Airport Raceway-

Hello again from the staff and crew from APRW.  We had a flipping good time Saturday night.  There were great conditions again for some close racing and Mother Nature keeping her distance.  As I entered into the pits I saw again a great car count and some new faces to the APRW.  Dallas and Austin Quick drove 14 hours from Phoenix AZ to come race at our top notch racing facility.  We here at APRW want to thank you very much for traveling such a long distance to come race with us.  Also I personally want to thank you for the 10 square Wing that you gave away at the end of the night.  Mike Milligan won a new NMMA right rear as well. We thank the Quick family once again.

All night long the Jr sprints were battling it out side by side.  Braeden Maddox has come a long way this year and it sure showed that night.  He won three out of the four races to almost go four for four.  Action Jaxon in his 14b action motorsports Jr did not make the race due to blowing his motor in hot laps.  Guess his dad has a lot to do before the next race.  Feature time came and we saw the 79t of Sabation Colert from Dodge City KS take the win.  Good job kiddos.

The pro Jr sprint class was the most exciting racing that we have ever seen.  The first heat went to a young and upcoming GIRL of Tayor Ricke.  She had the purple number 71 on fire and just flat out flying around that track.  Heat two went to the Colbert clan from Dodge City. Payton Churchill in his 79c Jr was fast and whooped the field.  Trophy dash was some great side by side racing and Tanner and his 3t got the win.  As the feature came we had a really scary moment when the 71 of Taylor Rickey went tumbling 2 ½ times down the back straight away landing on her side.  EMS crew was on the ball and right there.  We had to tilt her car up so they could get her out the car on a stretcher.  After it was all said and done she was just shaken up and scared.  We are all glad that you are ok Taylor.  Tell your dad to get that car fixed and come back and see us.  As the green flag flew again Payton took the win and another trophy to put on the mantle.  Great job kids and keep up the great racing.

Restrictor class was also some great racing.  The 71 of Austin Pribbenow took the win and never looked back in heat one.  Heat two went to the 36 of Kade Hagens.  Heat three went to local driver Mike Milligan in his 38 scorpion.  Glad to see you have that car up front again Mike.  Heat four went to Kade and his 36 Martin Motorsports Stallard.   Austin won the trophy dash and seemed to be walking away from the pack.  Track conditions changed and had two fast lanes for the feature.  It didn’t matter if you were on the bottom or on the cushion it was fast all the way around the 5th mile. We saw the field take the green flag and Ken Seirer and his 46 take the lead and never look back.  The middle of the pack was battling through and through and the 99 of Rich Koop came through the pack and ended up 2nd.  I don’t think that there is other racing that we have here that is more competitive than our restrictor class. Great job to all of you guys.

We had a total of 7 dwarf cars this weekend.  It made for some really great racing.  The #9 modlite of Warren took the win in the 1st and 2nd heat races.  Jon Baker and his 21b got the win in the trophy dash.  As the feature was upon us I was amazed.  Jason Baker started on the pole and led 4 laps till the green rocket of Rob Clower passed him for the lead. Yellow came out when the Jason Baker spun in turn 1 trying to get the lead back.  Rob Clower was hooked up and started walking away from the pack when the 82 of John Bemis had failure in the front end and hit the back straight wall taking him out of the race.  Warren must have just changed his line and figured out a faster way around the track because he passed Clower for the lead coming out of turn two.  Warren never looked back and got another win under his belt. Great job guys!

The Open class also saw some new faces in the pits.  In the first heat Cody Ellis has been on fire all year long.  He started in the rear of the pack and passed Zack Gigot for the win.  He also took the win in the 3rd heat.  The second heat John Campbell and his lil hottie got to hot and blew his motor leading the race.  Ross Porter and his 44 porter special took the win and also dominated the fourth heat.  Feature time came and saw Zack take his Factor 1 to the checkered flag. Great job all.

Lil Hottie notes:

Tayor Ricke.  Keep your head up young lady! You were fast and on fire.  I’m sure your dad can get it fixed.

John Campbell:  Guess you got your lil hottie to hot. BOOOOOOOOOOOM goes that r6.

Eddie Norton:  Get that Flyer faster so you can pass Warren.

Jaxon Baker: I’m sure your dad and grandpa can come up with enough parts to get you back together.

I just want to say thank you to the EMS and Fire crew for being on your toes all night long.  No matter if it was on the track or on the highway.  We really did have an exciting night here at the APRW.  Great job to all the drivers and crew of APRW!

The notes of APRW will be updated weekly with all that goes on here at APRW.
